About This Blog

This blog as the title indicates is my blog on Urawa Red Diamonds. Or Urawa Reds in short. I plan to post a separate article to introduce the team, but Urawa Reds is a professional soccer team that play in the Japanese J-League Division 1. I have been following and cheering for the team since the J-League started in 1993, but this year (2013) they are participating in the AFC Champions League for the third time since 2007 (which we became Champion) and thought it would be a good opportunity to start writing a blog about the Reds in English.

I hope to write couple of articles a week, especially around the ACL matches where Reds play against other Asian teams which probably would be the most traffic that would generate English readers. Through this blog I hope to interact with fans from the other teams that Reds play against in Asia and of course also with English speaking/writing supporters of Reds. There are very few English resources available about the J-League in general and I hope to be able to contribute by providing some first person perspective on the Japanese football/soccer scene.
